Civil War photographs at the Corcoran

I went to the Corcoran to see the Civil War photograph exhibit that they had, and whenever I go to D.C. I have this notion that all museums are free, because the Smithsonians are. Now I knew I had to pay ten dollars to go into their gallery, but I really just went for the photographs, and I still paid it.

I would say if you are 100% in love with Civil War photos go see it, and I am sure even then you will be slightly disappointed.

I was really looking forward to seeing the exhibit, and then I realized I paid ten bucks to see maybe 20 photographs, and 5 tin-types.

They were cool, but not ten bucks cool (maybe like five bucks cool though)! If you want to see some of the photo exhibits in D.C. I suggest you go to one of the Smithsonians instead, like the Annie Leibovitz exhibit at the American Art museum, which are interesting and different because they are landscapes...

  1. If you have the opportunity to go, make sure to check out Tim Herrington's exhibit too. It showcases some awesome photographs he took during the Afghanistan conflict.
